Well, the post holiday blues have well and truly set in.
Nothing makes you feel less happy to be home after a holiday than a mountain of work, over tired kids, poorly kids and an all round grumpy household that you really can’t be arsed with. So, what is the British tradition of holiday makers all over?
Book another holiday.
Which is just what we went off to do today. I was contacted whilst I was away to ask me if I wanted to attend one of the awesome Thomas Cook Halloween parties over this weekend. We said absolutely, and though we didn’t make it to the actual party because of a location mix up from a third party, we did make it along to the shop and filled our arms with enough holiday catalogues to stave off the holiday blues over a cuppa.
At the parties there was so much to do from awesome Halloween themed colouring competitions (with prizes that ranged from a trunkis to sweets) and a spooky photo booth, face painting and even the chance to win a trip to Florida FOR FREE. Yup, Florida! The competitions end today at 10am and the winner will be announced tomorrow (31st) for that extra spooktacular treat.
Last year we travelled to Disney World with Thomas Cook, it’s a place I booked my honeymoon and where we book our first ever family holiday to Turkey before Edith was born. We’ve always found that their prices have been awesome – from budget holidays for the family to all inclusive extravaganza holidays that cost the earth but that make memories you can’t put a price on. DisneyWorld was certainly the latter, but the Thomas Cook Airline flights alone were £2500 cheaper than any other airline – something I just couldn’t work out. We’re all going to be same place, all stuck lord knows how high in the air and every flight has similar amenities… so what the devil would we pay what was essentially our every penny of spending money, over for? We didn’t. We stuck with what we knew and we didn’t look back.
We did pay a little extra for leg room, something I would recommend if you have a baby/toddler travelling with you or you are a taller person like Adam. For us, on the flight out to Orlando, Thomas Cook cabin crew couldn’t have been better – it was like having an extra smiley, extra pair of hands to help with Edith, who didn’t sleep for the whole 9hr flight. As you can imagine I basically paced the Atlantic and boy was I tired. There was never a risk of not being offer drinks or a helping hand where required.
I have been travelling with Thomas Cook as one of my chosen airlines for years, I’ve also been booking my holidays with them since before I can remember. They always have special offers and last minute deals that make surfing the web with a toddler attached to the boob on a Friday afternoon when you should be tackling the mountain of work almost… fun.
So, before I do go ahead and book, what do we think? Disney Land Paris or Lapland for the Santa experience of a lifetime?
H 🙂
We recently booked our getaway next year with Thomas Cook. We used to always go with another big brand; however, our last holiday was with Thomas Cook and it was great – and cheaper. So, for our next one (which it will have been 3 years since our last yearly getaway) we went with them again. Certainly worth a look when booking as we found cheaper for sure. The only gripe was no local flights from Bournemouth – so off to Gatwick
