With it being half term, I thought I would ask a few of my fave blogger mamas where they recommend in their local area. First up is Beth from Twinderelmo who is sharing her fave things to do with kids in Birmingham and the Midlands!
Cadbury World in Bournville – just a couple of miles from Birmingham, Cadburys World is one for chocoholics. With 14 chocolatey zones, a 4D cinema and plenty of chocolate tasting, it’s a great family day out. You can also use your Tesco clubcard vouchers for admission
National Sea Life Centre in Brindleyplace is right in the city centre with loads of parking nearby. This is always a banker as you can visit no matter what the weather as it’s all indoors. There’s loads of family friendly restaurants nearby too to make a day of it.
Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery is a free attraction in Birmingham, which is always handy and is packed with things to look at for kids of all ages. The Mini Museum is filled with books, games and dressing up making it perfect for under 5s.
Drayton Manor theme park is based in Tamworth. My three absolutely love Thomas Land and the zoo, and now Charlie is bigger, he can appreciate the bigger rides too. They have lots of half term offers running too for discounted entry.
Cosford Air Museum is in Albrighton, near Wolverhampton and is free to enter (there’s a small car parking fee) It’s perfect for aeroplane enthusiasts and also has a lovely cafe. It’s a great one on a soggy day to visit.
There are so many National Trust sites based in and around Shropshire and the Midlands. I highly recommend Attingham Park in Shrewsbury and Shugborough Hall near Stafford as they both have so much to see and do. The snowdrops are out in full force at Attingham as we found out a few weeks back.
Dudley Zoo is open all year round, so why not wrap up and is it this iconic zoo. Capitalise on the cold weather as the beautiful tigers, chimpanzees and orangutans are usually inside and it’s amazing to get so close to them.
Finally, another of our favourites is West Midland Safari Park in Worcestershire where you get up close and personal with endangered exotic animals in the drive-through safari. They also have a new land of dinosaurs which move and make scary noises. They also have just opened a Boj play area which is brilliant for the kids. There’s lots of eateries dotted around, not to mention keeper talks and so many animals to see.
There’s so much you can do in these parts. We love Weast Midlands Safari Park.
I haven’t been to Drayton Manor in absolutely years, I’d almost forgotten it existed!
I really want to take her to Drayton man or. Looks amazing. One day.
Fantastic recommendations! When my twins were smaller we did Dudley Zoo, Drayton Manor, CadburysWorld (my favourite) and the Sealife Centre. All of them were so entertaining for the children and I have many happy memories of going to them. x
Great ideas for the kids! I’ve not been to Attingham Park or Shugborough Hall. I must explore more of the National Trust sites. I’m a huge chocoholic – would love taste all the chocolate!
Thanks Lana!
I absolutely LOVE visiting zoos and seeing how animals behave, I could spent hours and hours without getting bored! xxx
Zoos are the best!
I’d also recommend the space centre in Leicester for a great day out. I’ve been passed Dudley zoo but never went in!
Ohh I will bare that in mind!
I don’t think i’ve ever been to Drayton Manor, and I’ve not been to Cadbury World since I was very young x
Oh we have, it was fab!
With the half term coming next week, this is a nice list of place to go with the kids during the break time. Your photos are nice and looks like your kids had fun.
Thanks lovely – Beth from Twinderelmo is fab!
Some great ideas for days out, it is always nice to have something planned to do in the school holidays x
Thank you!
