My name is Natalie and I write at parenting blog http://MemeandHarri.com. I am a Mummy of 3 – Meme, Harri and Alfie and I document our adventures, milestones and of course our day to day life. You can follow our journey on Instagram.com/memeandharri and Twitter.com/memeandharri
1.) Do you suffer with stress frequently or occasionally?
Occasionally.
2.) What sort of things cause you stress?
For me it is a lile bit of everything, There doesn’t seem to be a specific trigger. Sometimes I just feel overwhelmed by life.
3.) Does anything in parcular make stress worse for you?
I have suffered from stress a lot more since my 3rd child was born over a year ago. Not long aer his birth my husband started a new job with a longer commute. I think has definitely made my stress levels rise, and even more so since I returned to work aer maternity leave. Life is just so busy and I feel like at mes I just worry about everything that needs to be done.
4.) Does stress have an impact on your physical health?
I can struggle with headaches when I feel stressed and I also have trouble switching of at night me and struggle to sleep.
5.) What do you do to alleviate stress?
It may sound a lil crazy but I make lists to help me feel in control – wring it all down definitely helps. Getting away from reality also helps, it doesn’t have to be anywhere exotic but a change of scenery does me the world of good.
6.) Do you think more needs to be done to raise awareness of what causes stress and the impact it has on us and those around us? If yes, what would you do or like to see done?
Yes – I feel like it is such a taboo subject. I think we worry that by adming we are stressed that we are saying we can’t cope and we need help – and people struggle with the noon of needing help (including me) I guess we just need to be talking more about it. Making people more aware that stress can affect us all and there is help out there.
7.) Do you have any tips for anyone dealing with stress?
Getting outdoors always helps me, it clears my head and puts everything in perspective. Also talking to people about how you’re feeling helps – I always have a offload to my husband and he often helps break down my worries and come up with solutions.
Thanks Natalie!
