What’s happening to baby this week?
This week, baby measures over 16 inches long and despite weighing just over 3 1/2 pounds, is heading into a growth spurt! He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He’s probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby’s kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.
The reality: How have I been feeling this week?
Well I can certainly say that baby’s movements have changed this week! She is incredibly active and is at her peak at around 9/10pm which means I am wide awake! I also have found that I’m really beginning to feel very tired – thought that could be due to the fact that the boys have taken up against me and decided to wake up every night between 12-2 am for cuddles and to get into my bed. Needless to say, being booted from the inside and nudged from the outside, I have had little to no sleep for days… 4 in a bed is not comfortable!
I also seem to have lost an interest in most foods, I’ll eat because I’m hungry but I’m not really enjoying many meals! This is partly because I feel full all of the time and partly because I get stomach acid most of the time!
Cravings.
Nothing really, I will spontaneously decide I need something, and then I have to have it, but I’m generally not interested!
The bad, adorable and downright funny.
Funny:
Well, getting stuck on the bed and in the bath has been highly amusing this week… especially when I’ve had to call Adam to help me!
Adorable:
I woke up to Reuben tapping me on the shoulder at 3 am and asking if he could cuddle into baby. It wasn’t great to be woken up but it was so heartwarming to hear his little voice asking to cuddle baby and he then snuggled into the bump 🙂
Bad:
Stomach acid and exhaustion are pretty crappy at this stage of pregnancy!
