My closest friend Kate threw me a wonderful baby shower when I was pregnant with Toby, she really went to town and I had such a wonderful time! A handful of close friends came to celebrate with us and Kate sourced some of the best baby shower games and gifts.
The one thing Kate organised that sticks in my memory and will forever be in my heart is Make a bodysuit for the expectant mother. I wanted to share this with you all because I think it is possibly the best idea ever for a baby shower, and will mean so much to the Mum-to-be.
Kate bought one bodysuit for each guest (I would recommend organic cotton as it will be gentle on baby’s skin) and then bought a pack of instant iron on clothing transfers. Knowing my tastes Kate chose these Julia Rothman transfers but you could do this to suit any taste.
Once the party was in full swing Kate took each guest off to my ironing table, handed them the transfer book, a pair of scissors and the iron. Each friend produced a totally unique, 100% designed by them bodysuit for me (well, really for Toby). It was such a wonderful idea and just delighted me! I still have every single bodysuit and I have decided to make them into a quilt for when he is older.
I would strongly recommend if you are organising a baby shower, or if you have a particularly crafty friend who would enjoy making her own bodysuits for baby, then you should give this a go!
