I’ve been exhausted recently, Edith is teething (she’s been an early teether from around 8 weeks, but the dribbling and being generally uber grumpy teething stage has kicked in now and she isn’t a happy bunny) so she isn’t sleeping well at all and it is reallytaking it’s toll on me. She seems to have a need to be really warm and close to me, to the point where I feel a bit over heated! I’ve been looking into something that would help to keep her warm in the night, especially her little arms and shoulders as the sleep bags that we use don’t cover them at all. It is only May and she does get cold really easy (just like Roo used to!)
That’s when I came across SurPyjama, a French concept that was all but forgotten until Turtle Dove stepped in to revive it!
SurPyjamas are worn over pyjamas or babygrows, instead of a baby sleeping bag or covers (it’s almost like a snowsuit but for bed). They are just so adorable and absolutely perfect for the chillier nights which are always present in the UK.
The other thing I love about these is that they make a perfect alternative to a coat or snowsuit when out and about. At the moment, most days it is too cold for Edith to not wear a coat or anything, but too hot for her big padded snowsuit… so what to do? Well, this would be ideal (and I still have easy access to the nappy in preparation for a poonami!).
Turtle Dove has taken the idea of a SurPyjama and made it a super stylish and ultra cool bedtime necessity for children from birth to age 4. I love the details on the designs, they are just so beautiful and absolutely stylish enough to be out and about in!

Hi Harriet
Have you come across any other companies doing these? I love our Turtle Dove surpyjamas but they are so expensive. My daughter revels in making a mess and so I’m finding we need to have one in the wash and one on of these and I just can’t justify the price. I’m struggling to find anyone else who does them though, for the UK. Any help much appreciated.
I haven’t at the moment Gemma I’m afraid, but if I do I will let you know!
