You might remember back in summer I went fruit picking with Robinsons and the kids to The Balloon Tree farm. We played, picked fruit and created two sugar free recipes using the fruit that we picked (and Rum toft but that wasn’t sponsored…)
When I look back on summer I really miss those sunny days, don’t get me wrong, I adore Christmas but there is something about the sunshine, the vibrant colours, watching the kids running about in the buff or dive bombing the paddling pool. It’s hard not to feel wistful for those summer months.
Robinsons is something that is quintessentially summery, but it’s also something that you might not think to grab if you were the designated driver for the evening – squash is for kids right?
WRONG! As we’re leading up to Christmas, there are going to be more and more of us looking into the non-alcoholic options because we’ve drawn the short straw or, like I was for roughly 4000 years, expecting and not fancying have a glass. I remember well being the “dessy” and wanting to sob in a corner when someone else offered me ANOTHER glass of orange juice which was bound to send me into an internal hell where I’m chugging Gaviscon next to Adam chugging a pint. Not fun. Not only that but if you aren’t the biggest fan fizzy drinks – and I’m not – then the options become water, water and water.
Enter, centre stage, new Robinsons Fruit Creations.
A new grown up squash is waltzing its way to us this Christmas, ready to take the limelight as the saviour of designated drivers, tee totallers, had too much-ers and preggos everywhere. I love the new flavours that are designed for an adult palette – like Crisp Apple and Elderflower which I’m drinking now. Each serving is less than 10 calories which makes a huge difference to the usual fruit based drinks that we’re stuck drinking if we aren’t sloshing back the cocktails at the office party, and even more of a difference than the sugary pop (check out my old lady self…). There is no added sugar but twice the fruit which makes them a little zingier, a little more exotic and not quite so sweet.
So what are the new flavours:
- Juicy Orange, Mandarin & Lime
- Delicious Peach & Raspberry
- Juicy Pear & Blueberry
- Rich Pear, Blackcurrant & Cherry with Barley
Robinsons have also given 5 of their most grown-up flavours a fruity boost which will now sit in the Fruit Creations range:
– Juicy Raspberry & Cranberry with Barley
– Exotic Pineapple, Mango & Passionfruit
– Crisp Apple & Elderflower with Barley
– Luscious Strawberry & Kiwi with Barley
As if all that wasn’t enough to be very exciting, Robinsons have designed a new Fruit Cordial range too, with a lovely botanical twist to every flavour. I know that my mum really loves cordial but she’s pretty limited with what she will actually drink because most flavours are on the childlike side, but not anymore!
