About Toby & Roo
Being a parent is hard right? That’s one of the reasons I wanted to start Toby & Roo, and why it has grown to be a community I am super proud of. My name is Harriet (less impressive than Maximus, no Gladiator style titles here I’m afraid), I’m a Mama to two wonderful, if slightly (think batshit) crazy, little boys called Reuben and Tobias and my fabulous (read dictator like) daughter Edith. I have an obsession with coffee, some would go so far as to say I’m addicted, but we don’t let those people type on the blog so we’ll say “I’m a fan”. I am a serial mum bun wearer, total over sharer and, like most of you guys, I’m in desperate need of a nap. I witter a lot about feminism, equality, body positivity, letting children be children and I have a rather colourful mouth… again, some would say foul but what do they know?
I live in the Northern English countryside, which means I spend a lot of time travelling to places where things actually happen but when I’m not doing that I get to enjoy walks in the woods which we live next to, and picnics in the fields around the corner. Pretty awesome consolation if you ask me.
I am an avid player of hide and seek – I’m a pro at shouting fee, fi, fo, fun while stomping my feet up the stairs, and I can definitely project my voice (you can call it shouting if you like, I’m sticking with projecting).
I love to bake, I love to read – two things I seldom get chance to do on my own, if at all!
The boring bit about me –
I worked for an international children’s merchandise retailer for a number of years, so I do know what I’m looking for when it comes to children’s products. I have given talks about numerous topics including car seat safety, choosing your pushchair, baby weaning, breastfeeding and bottle feeding, and even home safety. I can even tell you how to fit yourself for a nursing bra so your chebs don’t get too achy in those first few weeks – be jealous of my worldy skills! I’m now an award winning blogger, which sounds fancy and all, but in the grand scheme of things I feel like my grandchildren will probably be as underwhelmed as the postman was when I was enjoying my daily interaction with human kind and got a bit over excited sharing the news.
If you want to get in touch, be it to share your feelings about the blog, suggest a topic or product to look at on the blog or offer me a lifetime supply of coffee or chocolate then please send me a message! Its lovely to hear from readers and companies alike.
**Please note: Any products that are reviewed on the blog are personally tested by me, if necessary, and samples are not returned (usually because they are being enjoyed too much by three very ‘hands-on’ testers! Should you wish to send any samples please contact Craig Knox tobyandroo@thecornerlondon.com
