This was so easy, and since I spend a good 90% of my days wondering if in doing enough to catalogue Edith’s babyhood and feeling guilty that she hit another milestone and I haven’t written it down, I think this is ideal for getting those little footprints to keep and it felt lovely to do.
It really is a simple craft, easy to do and perfect for remembering those baby toes 🙂
Here’s what you need:
- Brown paint
- A paint brush
- A piece of card
- A red felt tip OR red Pom Pom if you’re feeling fruity
- White paint and a black felt tip OR goggly eyes and glue.
Dip baby’s foot in the paint, or paint it with a paintbrush. Place it firmly on the card and hold for a few seconds, then again to the side of the first print. You can use both feet for this if you want, I only did the one because Miss E is still feeling a bit rough and I didn’t want to faff her around too much – though she seemed to be having a great time.
Allow to dry and then draw on the antlers, stick on the goggly eye or add a white circle of paint for each and allow to dry before adding the black dot to complete. Lastly draw a red circle for a nose or add a red pom pom.
Done! I’m going to be keeping one of these reindeer footprints for myself, I can’t possibly imagine not having any of Edie’s little footprints when she’s grown up and this is the perfect excuse to keep them.
