I’m not an especially crafty person (have I mentioned that before…?) but I do like ‘giving it a go’ with the kids – it rarely turns out Pinterest worthy, in fact it usually appears that they could have done a far better job without my involvement but we have fun nonetheless.

I made these little finger print Christmas cards with Toby, and I have to say I think it looks insanely cute – anyone could do it… No, honestly, anyone could! So, if you want to get a little bit crafty but want something that still looks decent and won’t offend the eyes for the remainder of the Christmas period, you can give this a go – and if you wanted to, you could even change your canvas and materials and make this into a cup design or plate. Go crazy!

You will need:

  • A willing(ish) child with cute pudgy fingers
  • Patience for said child
  • A paint brush
  • Brown paint
  • Red paint
  • Chosen skin coloured paint
  • A black biro or felt tip pen
  • A red felt tip

Dip your little ones finger or thumb into the brown paint, and make 3 pairs of reindeer, two prints for each – one as a body and one as a head.

Next, for Santa’s sleigh you need red paint on the thumb and you make a couple of thumb paints for the base, and a couple of thumb prints for the back. Lastly, add a skin coloured thumbprint hovering above the bottom of the sleigh.

Leave to dry. Once it’s dry, add in your detail! A beard and face for Santa and pen on his hat. For each reindeer, 4 little stick legs, a tail, a little ear, an eye and for 5 of them a black nose and Rudolph up front or in the middle with his red nose.

Et Voila! Told you it was easy! Give these lovely fingerprint reindeer cards a go!
