It was Edith’s christening last weekend, and one of the things I was asked about the most was the decorations, where we found them etc. The truth is, we made a awful lot of them, including these confetti balloons, which are the perfect party decorations! They literally cost us a couple of pounds to make and were so much fun, not to mention incredibly pretty. I thought I’d share how to make them:
You will need:
- One bag of your chosen confetti. Make sure this isn’t sharp or you might pop your balloon. The best option is a set of paper or foil circle confetti.
- 10-30 clear latex balloons (you can find these online in most crafting places – or eBay!)
- Balloon ribbon
- Helium and weights (optional)
It’s incredibly easy. Grab a balloon and pull the neck of the balloon wide open. Get someone to grab a good punch of confetti and pop it in the balloon. Blow up as required with either air or helium and tie with your ribbon. Done.
If you are on your own and don’t have someone helping you to make these decorations then grab a funnel and wrap the neck of your balloon around it. Put your confetti in that way and follow the last steps.

They looked amazing, and if one pops Harriet your Mum and Mum in law have a giggle in the kitchen as you get showered in colourful confetti x
